Pondering on Past Lives

Well if my blog is in fact destined to wither away to just "blurbs about things I love", then let it noted that I love thinking about past lives.
Now I'm not entirely sure I believe that past lives are even real or if we just wish we had lived in certain time periods but I'm positive that at this point I have enough evidence to prove that I was once a Plantation Owner...'s wife.
Before you get to excited let me make it very clear that this is in no way some repressed feel of mistaken gender. I just feel that I have a little bit too much understanding for the plight of Scarlett O'Hara. There's of course a lot of love.
Obvious things to love about the old south:
-Hoop Skirts
-Gentry
-Hats
-Fancy social gatherings
-High Society
And I'm not forgetting the problems that ol' dixie had either.
Obvious things to not love about the old south:
-no AC
-Bumpy roads and carriages
-Slavery
-A general lack of tolerance
But I must confess that as long as I can remember I've always felt a little sad for plantation owners of the old south and their dramatic change in life style circa 1864. Of course I believe that what happened needed to happen to end slavery and begin a slow but steady tolerance of ethnicity in America, but still not EVERY plantation owner could have been a bad one. The earliest memory of this hidden sympathy was a 3rd grade visit to the Huntington Library. It was this fantastic painting of a southern woman burning her crops of cotton so that the north wouldn't be able to use them. I dunno it just made me sad.
So past lives. I don't know if I believe in them or not but they are fun to think about.

Vanessa Williams

Ok so I'm trying to revive my blog with just little blurbs about things that I love.

I'm watching Vanessa Williams on The View and let me just tell you -- brills town USA. First of all there's her whole devotion to Broadway which is great. Every interview she does she's always like I just love Broadway and singing and dancing and acting the role and doing it live! Work Diva! I mean lets be honest...her performance as the witch was less than life changing but it was a good try. She also just told a story about Mrs. Gershwin saying "over my dead body" to casting her in "My Own and Only". RIGHT! Like I feel like be hated by Mrs. Gershwin is enough to boost the fame. Look at what happened to Rachel Zoe once Anna Wintour started hating...magic that's what happened.
So you're thinking. Kevin of course you love her. Broadway? Ugly Betty? Former Miss America that ended in scandal? What's not to love?
All previous statements are totally true but let us not forget the fact that is basically besties with the people at Botox! Like come on that's AMAZING!! Ok so when Sharlee and I turn 40 and we get Botox together my first injection will be in honor of Vanessa Williams.
Alright Y'all go out stop reading my blog (all what like one of you?) and go have some crazy diva moments. Throw shoes at people. Toss the scarf over your shoulder. Figure it out.

Fantastic Reality Television

Alright so here we go...
If you have not been keeping up with NBC's new B-List celebrity show "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" I really suggest you find a way to catch up. Here's the concept: a group of semi-famous people are dropped into the middle of the Costa Rican Jungle and have to do a series of super gross things in order to earn money for their charity.
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are on the show and are brilliant. Everything they do is legit out of control. They so often say "I'm too famous for this" and it's brilliant. They are constantly using dry shampoo and just asserting their "fame". It's so preplanned!!! Find a way to see the first two episodes because they actually went back to Hollywood because they were just "too famous".

I'm going to try to blog more this summer. It's supposedly good practice for what I want to do with my life haha!
